Brazil initiates sunset review of antidumping duties on Chinese tableware
Please be informed that the Brazilian government initiated today (January 17, 2019) a sunset review of the antidumping duties applicable on tableware (NCM codes 6911.10.10, 6911.10.90, 6911.90.00 and 6912.00.00) originating from China. The Trade Union of the Industries of Glasses, Crystals, Mirrors, Ceramics and Porcelain of the city of Blumenau requested the initiation of this procedure on behalf of the Brazilian producer Oxford Porcelanas S.A.
Please note that this is the first review of the antidumping duties relating to this product. Antidumping measures were originally applied in 2014.
The participation of exporters and importers is of utmost importance to prevent the continued imposition of antidumping measures or, at least, reduce the current dumping margin. There are several points that can be challenged as regards the allegations of continuation of dumping and injury.
Companies have 20 (twenty) days, that is, until February 6th, 2019 to request their participation in the investigation to the Brazilian Trade Defence Department (DECOM). If companies miss this deadline, they will not be able to participate in this procedure.
DECOM will provide importers and exporters with a questionnaire which shall be submitted back within 30 (thirty) days. There is possibility of requesting an extension of this deadline.
The full version of the notice of initiation of this sunset review is available at: http://www.in.gov.br/materia/-/asset_publisher/Kujrw0TZC2Mb/content/id/59433393
Please feel free to contact us should you need any additional information regarding this investigation.
